    Description

    A position that involves keeping an eye on patient balances, dealing with accounts receivable, collections, unapplied credits, and other tasks to help collect funds owed to the practice.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor patient accounts for outstanding balances and reach out to patients and insurance companies to collect payments.
    • Use software tools to manage aging balances within set parameters and timelines.
    • Communicate with healthcare providers and staff regarding billing issues and escalate unresolved problems to the billing manager.
    • Refer delinquent accounts to external collection agencies.
    • Handle patient inquiries with a focus on excellent customer service.
    • Collaborate with other departments to enforce collection procedures.
    • Process patient payments using various platforms.
    • Conduct research, report findings, and collaborate with the Manager for optimal performance.
    • Stay updated on changes in the healthcare industry through education and training.
    • Maintain confidentiality of patient information to support medical office operations.
    • Perform other assigned duties.

    Requirements:

    • Familiarity with medical billing software and systems.
    • Understanding of healthcare insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Demonstrate high professionalism and integrity.
