    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Assistant Loading Supervisor, under the direction of the Loading Supervisor, is responsible for the safety of the employees in the area, the careful and efficient movement of materials and product on and off trucks and the movement of materials and product throughout the shipping and other areas in the plant/distribution center. The Assistant Loading Supervisor confers with other supervisors and the Loading Supervisor to eliminate difficulties and delays. The supervisor also confers with the Loading Supervisor concerning scheduling, quality, employee problems, etc.

    • Picks customer orders from racks and storage areas in the warehouse and stages them in theappropriate area for shipment.
    • Unpacks materials from vendors, attaches the appropriate identification tags (brand labels), and stocks in the appropriate areas for shipment.
    • Unitizes orders for shipments based on assortment of products in accordance with company specifications.
    • Operates the stretch wrap machine for packaging when required for certain products.
    • Complies with all safety guidelines as have been put forth in the required order picker training.
    • Practices good housekeeping by keeping the area swept and the equipment clean and serviced.
    • Keeps supervision informed of all quality, receiving, or shipping problems.
    • Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
    • Employees must proficiently read, speak and understand English.

    Requirements:

    • Prior supervisory experience.
    • Prior forklift experience.
    • Good computer skills.
    • Self-starter and have the ability to get the job done with a minimum of direction from his/her manager.
    • Work daily overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
    • Use and read any quality assurance instruments required in the department.
    • Communicate, lead, and direct the employees in the loading area.
