    Summary of Job Duties:


    Management responsibility for the overall operations & maintenance program for all campus educational and general (E&G) facilities (4.5 M square feet), through a Zone Maintenance management strategy consisting of (6) maintenance zones and a total of 37 staff and supervisors.

    Unit has primary responsibility for ongoing preventive maintenance programs and oversees the campus elevator service contract.


    Management responsibility for Building Services (120 staff and supervisors), which provides custodial services for 4.5 M square feet of E&G and other associated campus facilities, and the campus E&G window washing contract.

    Oversees the University's Recycling Program and the solid waste disposal contract.

    Responsible for the campus landscape and grounds program, and the integrated pest management and control contract, with ongoing planning, development, and implementation, of campus landscape and grounds requirements.


    Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

    Qualifications:


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Building Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations Management, Construction Management or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

    At least five years of direct supervisory experience

    At least 10 years of facility operations experience


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's degree in building sciences, architectural engineer, facilities Management, operations management or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

    Basic understanding and hands on experience with landscape & grounds programs, custodial programs and recycling Programs

    Experience working in a higher education institution

    APPA CEFP (Certified Educational Facilities Professional); EFP - entry level prof. with up to four years exp.; IFMA Facility Management Professional


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Knowledge of building operations dealing with housekeeping, general trades, HVAC, landscaping and grounds, and engineering

    Knowledge of recycling programs

    Ability to effectively communicate verbally & written not only with staff, but with deans, directors, department heads, vice chancellors, faculty, and etc

    Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, with the ability to both think strategically and successfully manage and improve daily operations

    Additional Information:


    Salary Information:
    $115,000 - $125,000 Commensurate with education and experience

    Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act)


    The Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act was passed in 1990 and was amended in 1998 to form the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

    This law requires that certain institutions of higher education distribute to all current students and employees a copy of the required report, and to all prospective students and employees a summary of what is contained in the yearly report.
