    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations and personnel in the Plant from receipt of order to final shipment. Use of lean methodology to continuously improve the mill processes is also a primary part of the position. The incumbent is expected to lead the mill to successfully achieve objectives. Additionally, the Site Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the site plan that includes all corporate buildings and grounds.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Broad responsibility and leadership for overall Plant operations. Lead the operational management team and functional staff including Quality, Finance, Continuous Improvement, Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
  • Coordinates growth strategies between the mill and other functional areas such as sales, marketing, and R&D
  • Champion all EH&S efforts. Ensure that employee and product safety are the top priority. Drive a culture of Safety and Sustainability. Actively provide leadership relative to EH&S accountability with site leadership team.
  • Ensure that the plant has proper staffing plans, and that team members have the resources, training, information, and support needed to perform duties safely and effectively achieve objectives.
  • Responsible for the productive use of all (location) assets.
  • Works with other functions on items such as new products, new processes and supply chain management as it relates to (location) operations
  • Prioritizes and manages the capital budget for the mill
  • Sets standards and expectations for all departments in the mill
  • Works directly with customers on quality and service related issues
  • Develops direct reports for next level assignments
  • Works with the team to develop goals and execute plans
  • Directly oversees the quality system for the plant functioning as the management representative
  • Leadership by example – needs to be able to perform many of the functions in the plant
  • Creates a healthy team culture by including diverse perspectives, giving recognition, and demonstrating transparency and empathy.

  • Optimizes Maintenance Efficiencies – driving toward 3% of RAB
  • Improves On-time Delivery
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Engineering preferred
  • 5 – 10 Years experience managing in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma/Lean Experience
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Minitab, Excel, Word, Oracle, and Outlook
  • Working Knowledge of ISO
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Potential musculoskeletal stresses from repetitive motion of arms/hands, standing for prolonged periods, performing frequent bending, and twisting motions, lifting of light weight objects.
  • Steady hands and dexterity to perform tasks repeatedly and accurately.
  • Perform tasks that require constant state of alertness.
  • Work performed in laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Work performed in production area with potential exposure to large equipment/machinery and loud noises.
