- Travel greater than 75% within the continental U.S.
- Some work to be performed in off-hours Maintenance Windows (between 7pm – 5am local time). Most work will be normal business hours.
- Migrations ( 20 nights per year will be the off hours when stores are closed to customers) - Travel may be by auto, plane or other means based on distance to location.
- All travel expenses will be compensated in full based on travel policy. - No 'home' location for role.
- Majority of work will be done onsite at client retail store locations throughout the continental US.
- Most travel will be regional based on consultant's base location.
- Designs and documents network installations, rack elevations, patch matrices (cable run lists), and deployment and migration methods and procedures documents.
- Provides work instruction to Level 2-3 onsite smart hands installation crews.
- Will serve as Site team leader.
- Onsite and remote lead and quality control oversight network installation crews and validation of proper installation performed by cabling crews.
- Performs Site Surveys, additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment.
- Validates proper operation of switch and wireless network equipment after installation and migration and assists with troubleshooting and remediation.
- Requires strong technical knowledge of current network products with minimal training performed and recorded on Safety, Business Code of Conduct, Quality assurance and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).
- Familiarity and experience with cabling and installation to BICSI and ANSI/TIA standards
- Experience with both copper (Cat6) and fiber installation best practices.
- Formal "Basic Installation" training course is required (or equivalent on the job training).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
- Sound knowledge of the phases of the product installation.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Visio to document network rack elevations and cable patch matrices
- Proficient in the use of power tools such as Saws-All, portable band saws, drills, etc.
- Experience leading teams cabling or network installation technicians.
- Must be able to lift 40 Lbs.
