    Retail Pharmacist Job Summary:

    The Retail Pharmacist verifies medication orders for appropriateness of dose regarding patient age weight and allergies. They screen for potential drug interactions enter or verify medication orders into the pharmacy computer profile system maintain compliance with clinical pharmacy programs protocols established within the department facility produce labels to containers showing identification data directions for use compounding extemporaneous products maintaining long term care hospice documentation billing ensuring compliant filling dispensing controlled substance medications counseling patients on medicine usage side effects interactions contraindications referring to medical providers as needed performing retail clinical wellness services such as immunizations flu shots diabetes awareness preventive healthcare services participating in regulatory meetings providing oversight supervision guidance to Pharmacy Technicians operations maintaining outdated medications proper operation equipment drug information provider nurse staff patients quality improvement program correcting action monitoring evaluating taking corrective action approaching work making quality improvement part every activity actively preparing participating all regulatory inspections surveys ensuring expenditures job-related activities are budgetary constraints complying hospital Corporate Compliance Program enforcing CCH Standards Excellence being free governmental sanctions involving healthcare financial practices other duties assigned.
