POSITION SUMMARY:
The LVN administers nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LVN performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties.
The primary patients for whom the Med-Surg Unit provides care are adults and geriatric patients.
The LVN must be competent in the assessment of adult/geriatric patients for appropriate physiological, behavioral, motor skills and psychological norms.
He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of change in condition, abuse, or neglect and cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical.
Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted; therefore, the LVN must also be competent in the assessment of children including age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological, psychological norms.
He/she must be cognizant of safety, treatment/medications and immunization concerns.REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Graduate of a school of vocational nursing.
Licensure/Certification: Current license to practice vocational nursing in the State of California. IV and Blood Withdrawal Certification. BLS certification and NIHSS /Stroke Scale Certifications required.
Experience:
Ability to demonstrate annual telemetry proficiency preferred.
The ability to work collaboratively with the health care team.
Basic Computer Skills.
PAY / BENEFITS
Estimated pay:
$25.24 to $30.54 per hour based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).
