    Purpose:

    This exciting and rewarding position assists the Marketing & Business Development Division with the administration of AFS's two award-winning magazines, including advertiser fulfillment, database management, and membership retention. Special emphasis for this position will be placed on the support, development and maintenance of advertising promotions, the advertising production flow for the magazines, the continued development of marketing products offered to customers. The ability to communicate effectively by telephone and e-mail is essential. All with the convenience of a hybrid work format and a part-time schedule.     Key Accountabilities:

    • Superior customer service (internal and external customers) is a vital part of this position.
    • Facilitate the development and execution of a consistent promotion message for the magazines.
    • Assist in producing and updating marketing tools by learning various types of computer programs (ex. CRM, Salesforce (Alpha Publisher), and Survey Monkey.
    • Monitoring and upkeeping/increasing circulation and overseeing relevancy to the audience by making phone calls.
    • As assigned, telephone and email AFS individual members to check on their member experience, explain benefits, mention upcoming events and/or to expedite renewals.
    • Perform departmental administrative responsibilities for the marketing department including: Record updates, promotional mailings, invoicing, engagement reports on digital advertising, managing advertising artwork and insertions. and assist in coverage for customer service.
    • Assist in the marketing and day of production details for Manufacturing Day.

    Required Skills or Experience:

    • High School Graduate or GED equivalent,
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • College courses in business, marketing or public relations are preferred.
    • Computer knowledge of word processing software (MS Word);; spreadsheet software (MS Excel); presentation software (MS PowerPoint).
    • Must be able to read and write in English.
    • Must be able to multitask, work in a detail-orientated manner and be a good communicator.
    • Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently.
    • Must have valid driver's license.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger or feel objects, reach, balance, stoop. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    The work is classified as Light Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept. of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
