    Shift Available: Monday - Friday (Days)

    Pay Rate: $30 per hour
    This position is overtime eligible over 40 hours / week, overtime will be expected as necessary in order to protect the business from any disruption.

    Divert works with the top retailers in the industry, including Ahold Delhaize, Albertsons, CVS, Kroger, Target, and others, and nearly 5,400 retail stores across the U.S., providing technology, logistics, and anaerobic digestion facilities to help retailers reach their sustainability goals. The company processes more than 232,000 tons of wasted food a year and, through its collaboration with some of the nation's largest food retailers and relationships with local food banks and nonprofits, Divert has facilitated the donation of more than 10 million pounds of food to people, rather than going to waste.

    Position Summary

    As a Driver at Divert you will be part of a team responsible for all CDL driving needs for our new locations and service offering in Springfield, MA and Hartford, CT. This position will be based out of Granville, MA.

    Divert is looking for a CDL Class B driver to help launch our Connecticut and Massachusetts collection team. This is a non-union position responsible for delivering our materials like carts to our commercial clients and bringing green waste back to our facility safely. Safety is our priority above anything else. Prior experience driving a rear load compaction, Class 8 collection truck is a must.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently
    • Perform pre and post trip inspections
    • Complete daily log
    • Deliver compost carts and other products to commercial establishments
    • Delivery of waste to ours and other facilities for processing as needed.
    • Navigate your route efficiently
    • Communicate with operations leaders on a regular basis
    • Reliably work scheduled shifts
    Physical Demands:

    To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb in and out of trucks, up to 8 hours per day. Answer and talk on telephone, email on occasion and work with computer systems. Drive safely Class B equipment. Daily lift and carry objects up to 60 pounds and roll heavy dumpsters and bins. Reasonable accommodations may be made to assist individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

    Minimum Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Valid CDL Class B license required
    • Experience operating Class 8 compaction collection trucks preferred
    • Experience driving box trucks is preferred
    • Able to perform physical tasks such as climbing in and on trucks, digging out stuck loads, and washing and fueling trucks
    • Utilize proper lifting techniques and bars
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Be familiar with the local area and have efficient map reading skills for local deliveries
    • Must maintain a professional appearance at all times
    • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
    • Must interact with the public in a professional manner
    • Be self-motivated and reliable to meet performance standards
    • Be open to a flexible work schedule
    • Understand and follow all OSHA requirements including wearing PPE: vests/gloves
