    Description
    Our client is looking for CNC Machinists who have an eye for detail and a passion for precision. These machinists will set up and operate CNC machines to confidently produce high-quality components with accuracy and efficiency.

    Machinists should also be familiar with manually controlled machines and benchwork in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment.

    Applicant must be a US citizen. Access to DoD facilities is required. Company is not able to sponsor work visa or this position.


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


    Setup and operate CNC machines to produce precision partsRead and interpret engineering drawings and blueprintsFabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metalProperly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machinesRecognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and toolingStudy applicable drawings and blueprints of work to be performed and follows instructionsMust be able to determine the proper tools required to perform given taskOperates and utilizes lifting aids as necessary to perform workUse gauges and precision measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirementsPerform daily, regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipmentAbility to track parts and jobs in JobBOSS and Travelers.

    Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner while maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsWork overtime as needed on evenings and/or weekendsCommunicates with others to coordinate work in plantOther duties as assignedPREFERRED MACHINING SKILLSFamiliarity with the use of:
    Lathes, Milling Machines, Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Turning Lathes, Grinders, Drill Press, Hydraulic Press, Band Saw, and Portable ToolsFamiliarity with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Okuma, DMG/Mori CNC controlsTurn, Drill, Tap, Bore, Hone, Polish machine processesLarge part machining experience preferred (ship propeller shafting, ship steering gear, etc.)
