Welder - Combination

This role requires the ability to join steel components or metal plates following blueprints, work orders, welding procedures, or verbal instructions using heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes various welding processes such as Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc.
Connects pipes from torch to oxygen and fuel gas tanks and adjusts valves to release the mixture.
Achieves the desired temperature, size, and color of flame by manipulating the torch and regulating gas and air flow.
Preheats workpieces for welding or bending preparations using a torch.
Repairs holes or imperfections in metal pieces, smoothens bulges and curves.
Manually deposits filler rod for welding. May clean weld joints or work areas using wire brushes, grinders, or chemicals.
Eliminates excess weld, defective materials, slag, and spatter using various tools.
Works on scaffolds or climbs ladders to access work areas.
Chooses weld locations based on metal type, thickness, area, and expected temperature to safeguard the torch.
Performs other assigned duties.

Qualifications for this Position:

Education: No specific educational requirements.

Experience: 2-4 years of Journeyman level experience.
