    Job Description:


    Job Title: Retail Pharmacy Intern


    Department: Pharmacy


    FLSA: Non-Exempt


    General Role


    - Provides friendly and efficient customer service, filling prescriptions compliant with all regulations under pharmacist supervision.


    - Reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, and Pharmacy Department Manager.


    - No direct reports.


    - Fills prescriptions and assists in processing them promptly.


    - Manages inventory, orders and stocks merchandise, and enters data into the system.


    - Works collaboratively with the team to adhere to procedures and policies.


    - Assists in employee training and monthly inventory tasks.


    - Maintains pharmacy cleanliness and professional appearance.


    - No supervisory duties.


    Education and Experience


    - Less than six months of relevant work experience.


    - Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy college and registered as an intern.


    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualities


    • Problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to handle physical demands and perform various tasks effectively.
    • Visual acuity and physical agility required for pharmacy operations.


    Working Environment


    - Fast-paced retail store setting with exposure to daily noise.


    - Regular multitasking and occasional exposure to chemicals.


    Equipment Used


    - Pharmacy software, printer, hand-held units, scanner, calculator, and office devices.


    Financial Accountability


    - Responsible for pharmacy assets and inventory management.


    Contacts


    - Daily interaction with pharmacy and customers.


    - Occasional contact with external stakeholders and regulatory agencies.


    Confidentiality


    - Upholds HIPAA regulations and ensures customer data privacy.


    - Maintains confidentiality of prescription details.
