    **THIS IS FOR A SWING SHIFT POSITION WHICH STARTS AT 4:30 P.M. AND PAYS A 10% DIFFERENTIAL ON THE BASE WAGE STATED IN THIS POSTING.


    JOB SUMMARY:
    **This position is responsible for inspecting machined components, weldments, purchased components, etc. throughout the facility. Utilizes a Hexagon Romer arm and Leica Laser Tracker, as well as conventional mechanical measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thread/depth gauges, etc. Provides all necessary customer and internal inspection reports.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum 3 years' experience setting up and operator a laser tracker (Leica preferred). Minimum 5 years' experience of mechanical inspection of machined parts. Familiarity with CNC milling preferred.

    Prior experience using Verifsurf and Polyworks software, both in measuring and extracting necessary inspection reports. Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, Pro-E, and CAD/CAM software. Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Ability to read, understand and interpret prints as well as supplier specifications and requirements. Ability to provide thorough, concise and understandable reports for both internal and external customers.

    Strong sense of accountability and willingness to take ownership of assigned areas.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to re-prioritize and organize tasks in order to meet changing deadlines.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    Shop floor environment with noise (under 80 db), dirt, oil and grease. Walking surfaces may be slippery and slip-resistant shoes are required. Occasional exposure to air-borne oil/coolant mist and hazardous chemicals.

    Position requires individual to be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 40 lbs., to climb in or on large machined parts and/or over or on large CNC machines.

    Must be able to reach, grasp, push, pull, see, hear, communicate and use a computer. Uniforms are provided and required to be worn.
