    The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Coteau's protection against theft, vandalism, trespassing, fire and any other events determined to be detrimental to the security of any and all property and people at the mine.

    Job Description:

    Essential Duties:
    • Lead Security Officers
    • Prepare work schedules to ensure all shifts are covered
    • Prepare communications, administrative reports, and other regulatory related documentation
    • Access control at the main mine entrance gate to check in and out any entrance or exit through the gate. Perform inspection of vehicles and equipment when determined necessary
    • Perform general surveillance and patrol of mine for protection against theft, vandalism, trespassing, fire and any other events determined detrimental to the security of all property
    • Interact professionally and engage with mine personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public
    • React appropriately and promptly in emergency situations
    • Respond to all medical emergencies or accident scenes and provide first aid assistance or direct traffic.
    • Monitors CCTV and alarm systems and provides appropriate response when applicable. Ensure all CCTV and alarm systems are functional
    • Generates clear and concise written reports of shift activities and report problems immediately
    • Must possess a valid North Dakota driver's license, maintain safe driving practices and be willing to operate company pickup trucks in adverse weather conditions. Maintain the vehicle in a clean and safely operating condition
    • Protect organization by keeping information confidential
    • Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal regulations
    Other Duties:
    • Identify security concerns and propose improvements
    • Attend training opportunities, and conduct training for Coteau employees when identified
    • Other duties as assigned
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong work ethic with effective communication skills
    • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision
    • Must be self-motivated, responsible, able to act independently, and make sound decisions
    • Shift work is required and must be able to work up to 12-hour shifts
    • Customer service oriented
    • Good computer, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
    Education and Experience:
    • Two years of work experience in security, law enforcement or criminal justice is required. A two-year degree in any related field will also be considered in lieu of experience.
    • Emergency Medical Services training to the level of Emergency First Responder (EMR) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is preferred. If EMT certification is not held, must be able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
    • High School Diploma or GED is required
