    Summary: Clinical Manager will be conveyed an executive level support to the Director of Resident Life and LPN. They will cultivate smooth operations coordinating the daily calendar, staffing schedules, care conferences, in- service agendas, presentations needed by the clinical team. They will be administering medication and treatments to residents per physician orders. They ensure that accurate and timely documentation occurs regarding medication in compliance with regulatory requirements, facility policies and standards of care. Performs day to day functions assisting residents by performing the following duties. Oversees all aspects of personal management with QMAPS.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

    1. Performs specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
    2. Completes daily, weekly and monthly schedules in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    3. Reconcile all cycle medications.
    4. Creation, Break Down and Maintaining resident charts.
    5. Assist in coordination of resident health matters by effectively communicating with primary care providers, and other liaisons involved in residential care including PT, OT, ST, HH.
    6. Assist with orientation and training of clinical department staff members.
    7. Maintaining cleanliness of medication room, including medical carts, audit bookkeeping, filing, back stock control, and assistance with medical disposal company.
    8. Order, store and assist with medications according to community policy and procedures, and current physician orders.
    9. Accurately report medication refusals to LPN and physician as directed for refusal of medication.
    10. Maintain security of all medications and ensure that controlled drugs are kept under lock and counted between each shift according to policy and procedure.
    11. Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
    12. Supply inventory and ordering (i.e., oxygen, tubing, dietary supplements, OTC's, medication cups, gloves, PPE and etc.)
    13. Follow up and coordination of resident care post hospitalization, dispatch health, outside care and transfers with the Director of Nursing.
    14. Assists InnovAge and other health care nurse(s) with coordination of residential care, including appointments and travel to appointments.
    15. Assists with referrals to community agencies to meet residents special social and emotional needs.
    16. Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
    17. Oversight of ADL's with QMAP's. Ensuring residents are receiving proper Level of Care.
    18. Ensures that proper documentation occurs timely.
    19. Enter physician orders in absence of the LPN into PCC for review and confirmation prior to adding to the EMAR.
    20. Perform all other duties as requested by supervisor/ LPN and or Director.
    21. Attends, participates and contributes to departmental, in-services and staff meetings addressing resident, departmental and community needs.
    22. Maintains and protects the confidentiality and privacy of resident information per HIPPA rules and regulations and supports resident rights.
    23. Maintaining residential incident reports within PCC. Responsible for ensuring completion and follow up with LPN per the policy.
    24. Ensures adequate staffing on shift by handling call-offs and absences following community policies and procedures.
    25. Assists QMAPS with ordering medication and following up with physicians and/or pharmacies to ensure timely delivery of medications.
    26. Provides education to other Medication Aides, QMAPs, L1MAs as needed based off audit results.
    27. Completes recruiting, screening, and selecting staff that are compassionate and have a desire to care for the elderly and disabled.
    28. Sets up medications and passes them to residents following established policies and procedures.
    29. Performs narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift.
    30. Calls residents families to bring in medication as needed if applicable.
    31. Pulls expired medication or discontinued medications, prepares for drug destruction.
    32. Administers treatments, takes vital signs, and weighs residents.
    33. Documents medical changes and orders on MAR per doctor orders.
    34. Assures lab work, faxes, physician orders, and medication orders are completed and filed according to community policies and procedures.
    35. Calls LPN, doctors, and families to inform of any change in condition, incidents, medications, etc. as needed.
    36. Communicates with residents, families, visitors, and employees in a positive manner using excellent communication skills.
    37. Assures excellent customer service by maintaining open and honest communication, answering phone promptly and professionally, and assuring residents, families, physicians, and other employees needs are met.
    38. Demonstrates a SERVANT heart and attitude by following the Bethesda Senior Living Communities mission statement.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have knowledge and skills to administer medications safely.

    Education/Experience:

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Certification in medication administration and CPR/First Aid as required per state regulations.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Special Skills:

    Ability to read, write, and speak in an understandable manner and understand the English language. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

    Works as a team player with a positive attitude and is able to work with all co-workers

    Functions independently and has flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with the residents/personnel.

    Enjoys working with and around older adults
