    Description

    Senior Process Engineer

    An established international company is looking for a skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their corporate office in Charlotte. With a competitive salary of up to $150K based on experience, attractive benefits, and the opportunity to be part of a top-notch team.

    Responsibilities of the Senior Process Engineer:

    • Create process flow diagrams (PFDs).
    • Develop mass and energy balances for gas, water, and solids.
    • Create and supervise the issuance of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
    • Create equipment and line lists and supervise their issuance.
    • Create duty specifications for equipment.
    • Allocate process data for control valves and instruments.
    • Conduct and document process calculations, establish standard calculation methods, and review calculations by peers.
    • Create new in-house software calculations as necessary.
    • Review vendor and other discipline documents.
    • Assist in preparing plant operating instructions.
    • Review logic diagrams prepared by the E&I department.
    • Collaborate with the E&I department and other disciplines to create logic diagrams for new systems and processes.
    • Evaluate existing and new process designs with a focus on safety.
    • Participate in and possibly lead Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews.
    • Conduct client training sessions (phase 1 training).
    • Participate in plant start-ups and troubleshooting.
    • Support proposal preparation when required.
    • Provide engineering man-hour estimates.

    Requirements of the Senior Process Engineer:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
    • Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Process Engineer, ideally in the Direct Reduction sector.
    • Willingness to travel 10% to 25% depending on project needs (domestic or international).
    • Experience with chemical process simulation tools like Aspen Plus is a bonus.
    • Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license.
    • Certification as a Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) or HAZOP facilitator.
    • Proficiency in Autodesk and Microsoft software tools.
    • Strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and process knowledge.
    • Excellent technical writing abilities.
