    At UM Capital Region Medical Center, we are about to changeUP everything with the opening of our new hospital.


    Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George's County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services, and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients.

    In addition, our new space will allow us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health status of Prince George's County residents.


    We are looking for Respiratory Therapists to join our extraordinary Repiratory Care Team at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center at our as a number of new career pathways and makes this the perfect time for you to join our team.

    General Summary:
    Respiratory Therapist are health care professionals who administer respiratory care by presciption of the physician.

    Their responsibilities include the diagnostic evaluation (not limited to:
    Obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens, interpreting physiologic data, performing tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system and performing neuropsychological studies), management, education and rehabilitation and care of the patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardio pulmonary system.

    The practice includes the application of technology and the use of treatment protocols across all care sites including but is not limited to application and monitoring of:

    Medical gases (excluding anesthetic gases) and environmental control systems, Mechanical ventilatory support, Artificial airway care, Bronchopulmonary hygiene, Pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures, Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, Hemodynamic cardiovascular support.

    Qualifications


    • Associate's Degree /Legacy Approved Certificate Program. Working toward an advanced respiratory related credential.
    • Licensure as a Respiratory Care practitioner by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance
    • Credentialing by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required
    • One year of experience as an RRT
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
