    Afternoon Shift (3pm-12:30am).

    Reliable Carriers is looking for experienced Truck & Trailer Mechanics to keep up our level of commitment to safety, customer service, and fleet performance.     The Position:
    The successful candidate will perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals.

    Positions are available for both Entry & Mastery-level Truck/Trailer Technicians Compensation based on experience.

    What you'll do:
    • Perform equipment maintenance on tractors and trailers as needed.
    • Perform PM (preventative maintenance on equipment on a scheduled basis).
    • Consistently look for and identify equipment issues on tractors and trailers that could cause a safety issue or equipment failure, ultimately causing downtime with the unit.
    • Focused on time units and getting routine maintenance done within the allotted time frame.
    • Maintain tractors and trailers to Reliable Carriers and Federal CSA standards.
    • Maintain a safe work environment.

    What you'll need:
    • SAE or Michigan state certification is a plus, but not required.
    • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with high-pressure situations, ability to effectively deal with both drivers and co-workers in a diplomatic way.
    • Must have prior technical experience in heavy-duty truck/trailer repair or automotive maintenance.
    • Must be willing to learn and help drive new efficiencies in the process.
    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and the legal right to work in the U.S.
    • Must pass an initial background and drug test.
    • Must speak fluent English.
    • Must have basic hand tools and toolbox or mobile cabinet.

    Experience:
    • Prior automotive maintenance, diesel truck repair, heavy-duty maintenance, or similar experience is required.
    • The ideal candidate will have 1- 5 years of experience with a tractor or trailer dealer or heavy repair shop.
    • Industry technical certifications are a plus, but not required.

    Skills:
    • This individual should be clean, well organized, and prompt.
    • This individual should have some computer skills.
    • Good communication skills (oral and written).
    • Ability to work independently without direction and to get the job done.
