General Description:
The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities and directing organizational strategy at the Shelter and the Transitional Building.
performance, developing organizational culture, and supervising staff. The Executive Director will ensure the organization complies with all its federal and state grants. Lastly, will be in communication with the Board on any pertinent matters concerning the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following.

Assist the Fiscal Manager in the preparation of grants, budgets, financial reports to funding agencies, audit requirements, and tax preparation as appropriate.
Collaborates with House Manager to ensure appropriate inventory of supplies, food, and other household items by reviewing/approving purchases.
As a non-voting member, attends all meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees. Makes oral and written reports to the Board of Directors as required.
Prepares short and long-term goals for staff development.
Implements and enforces all procedures outlined in the Agency's Personnel Policies
Supervises activities of staff, evaluates the performance of staff, and makes recommendations concerning, selection, promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions following personnel policy.
Responsible for ensuring staff coverage at the shelter - 24 -hours a day. Will have to be prepared to cover shift(s) if there is not adequate coverage (only in emergency cases or short-staffed – will be required to assume Crisis worker functions)
Provides guidance and support to all program staff. Oversees all direct services to clients, including 24-hour telephone hotline, counseling, shelter, support group referrals & On-Call Services.
Stay up to date on best practices, current research and literature, and effective and appropriate responses to domestic violence.
Makes presentations to the community about domestic violence.
Networks with personnel of other agencies to develop enhanced service linkages.
Administrative tasks- Obtaining quotes, ordering supplies, making phone calls, etc.
Works with Residential Manager to ensure client case management and referrals are appropriate and effective.
Education and Experience
Preferred:
Master's in social work, psychology, counseling, social services, or related field.
The minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree related to behavioral/social services, social work, or counseling, or three (3) years working in the field of social services preferably in a family violence center.
Must have at least four (4) years supervisory experience.Requires extensive knowledge of trauma-informed best practices, domestic violence and sexual assault, and local resources.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be flexible and able to adapt to change.
Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence/sexual assault issues and varied social and cultural problems facing survivors.
Critical Thinking and problem-solving skills
Must be able to handle information on a confidential basis and respect client confidence.
Must be non-judgmental and respectful concerning clients.
Must be able to work in a high-stress environment.
Must be able to adapt to and work with different personalities.
Must be a team leader and offer a professional image in the community.

Residential Manager, House Manager, Fiscal Manager, Shelter Advocates and Parent/Child Advocate
