    S ummary

    Engineering Manager ( Level 2 ) Civil will be involved in all MTA C&D project lifecycle phases , including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reports.

    Responsibilities
    The role will entail some of these typical duties:

    Provide technical reviews, writing , and expertise for all aspects of the Select-Phase, Initial Baseline Policy , and Gates approvals.

    Support the Small Business Mentoring Program through all phases : project selection, award , and construction.
    Review and comment on design consultant - prepared plans and specifications for technical accuracy, completeness, compatibility, constructability, and applicable code requirements (i.e. , ADA, NYS Uniform Building Code, NYSDOT, etc.).
    Designs/supervise various aspects of a project for MTA infrastructure.

    Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historic al data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative engineering design projects.

    Reviews designs, tests, assess materials , and performs/reviews engineering calculations.
    Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correct ly identify design and construction risks.
    Plans and coordinates required permitting and approval documentation that supports their designs.
    Manages a small team of design engineers.
    Embraces mentoring from senior staff.
    Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline.
    Coordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
    Education and Experience
    Bachelor of Science degree in the appropriate Engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Communications, Track, Signals, Environmental, Fire Protection).
    Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience .

    Must have a minimum of four (4) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.


    Competencies:
    Registered NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.

    Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.

    Knowledge of applicable industry and NYS building and design codes and standards.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
    Must possess excellent team - building , listening, problem - solving, and prioritization skills.
    Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required.
    Has experience in interpreting engineering reports and analysis.
    An attitude and commitment to actively participating in our employee culture is necessary .
    Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
    Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
