    CASHIER

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION


    To assist the Assistant Manager and Retail Store Manager and leadership team with the day-to-day store operations and store performance to meet or exceed budget while operating in compliance with company standards, policies and procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Greet and acknowledge all customers.
    • Participates in the pricing, displaying, and selling of store merchandise within price ranges established by Goodwill management.
    • Issue refunds and credits according to company policy and procedures.
    • Accurately calculate discounts and other special offers
    • Bag, box and wrap merchandise
    • Use cash register, scanner, or other equipment to total sales, accept payments, or process refunds, credits, and exchanges.
    • Ensures the proper rotation of all store merchandise.
    • Manages store's loss control by watching customers and employees and reporting suspicious activity to Loss Prevention. Ensures that items are not given away without authorization.
    • Ensures a clean and safe environment in the store, processing area and/or donation center by practicing good housekeeping.
    • Regular attendance is required as outlined in Goodwill's attendance policy.
    • Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.
    • Attends regular store meetings.
    • Acts as a positive role model for employees, trainees, and customers in all respects of professional development.
    • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


    Minimum requirement; general educational background without high school completion, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
