    The Role:
    Mechanical engineers will maintain the hotel equipment in optimum operating condition by performing preventative maintenance and repairs. Responsible for providing world-class customer service in alignment with company standards. This includes calls for hotel guest rooms, front of house and heart of house.

    Mechanical engineers will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair commercial food equipment and appliances such as grills, ovens (Rational and UNOX), ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers, fryers, etc...


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    The job incumbent follows hotel and corporate policies, guidelines and the hotel's business plan. Perform preventative maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel, including both in the front and heart of the house.

    Maintain heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and front of the house areas.


    This position requires:

    At least 5 years of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment and HVACRelevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications e.g.

    , EPA, CFESA, Journeyman license in HVACExperience in commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repairExperience in commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment repairAdditional experience with ice machines, carbonated beverage, HVAC and refrigeration is extremely helpfulFamiliarity with kitchen equipment repair and maintenanceExcellent problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated with a proven ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direct supervisionAs a Commercial Kitchen Service Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:Collaborating with restaurant and hospitality managers to provide service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, dishwashers, and other specialty food service equipmentDemonstrating your mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills while reading diagrams and schematics to identify and resolve equipment issuesFrequently kneeling, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 70 poundsWorking with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and a risk of electrical shock in various environmental conditionsWorking on ladders, roofs, and in rare cases, high, precarious placesInstall, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipmentTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with kitchen equipmentDiagnose and repair equipment malfunctionsAssemble and disassemble equipment for repair or replacement of partsWillingness and ability to participate in an emergency room call and assist engineers in various trades and coverage of shiftCoordinate with management to assure consistency in our service strategy and executionDefines service problems, collects data, establishes facts, and enters accurate information into ticketing system, as well as communicates effectively with managerFollows safe work practices and accident prevention proceduresMaintains a neat and orderly facilities office, along with a good part and tool inventoryValid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle recordCommercial sewer and drain experienceExperience in commercial plumbing service; or equivalentExperience in installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater
