Description

Role: Cloud Solutions Architect

Location: Houston, Texas (Onsite/5 days a week)

Duration: Long term (Possible Direct Hire)

Job Responsibilities:

Design a highly scalable, automated, and available cloud platform, utilizing IaaS and PaaS, for large scale, mission critical applications on Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Establish Architecture standards and maintain in repository.
Create and implement DevOps, support, maintenance, and governance practices for the Cloud Platform.
Solution and implement Cloud service models and application delivery like IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, and Containerization infrastructure.
Establish Cloud Network interface with Load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory Services.
Collaborate with Development teams, CyberSecurity, and Infrastructure teams for cloud platform delivery.
Enable automation practices for system initialization, provisioning, and infrastructure orchestration.
Ensure efficient monitoring and optimization of systems closely aligned with business goals.
Develop Proof of Concept environments.
Participate in architectural and governance reviews and audits.
Consult and support other divisions within solutions delivery.
Implement projects in collaboration with stakeholders.
Review and recommend technologies to meet business needs and align with enterprise strategies.
Create project documentation, operation manuals, and backup strategies.
Troubleshoot operational infrastructure and applications, providing 3rd level support.
Build key vendor relationships.

Additional Skills:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).
Minimum of 4-year degree in Computer Information Systems or management. Equivalent on job IT Experience considered.
7 or more years of Information Technology infrastructure experience.
4+ years of hands-on experience and expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure products.
Expert-level knowledge of containerization technology like Docker, Kubernetes clusters, AKS cloud.
Ability to script in at least two common languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Terraform, PowerShell desirable).
Experience with YAML, JSON, Azure ARM templates, Azure Runbooks, and Ansible.
Proficiency in tools like Visio for creating drawings.
