- Prepare three statement financial models with ability to come to valuation conclusions
- Closely monitor target sectors and absorb incremental news into financial models. Analyze public company filings and disclosures
- Perform market research on macro energy and industrial trends
- Attend meetings with management teams and sell-side analysts
- Work directly with the investment team
- Arrange calls with investor relations departments
- Business, engineering, or energy focused degree from a top-tier university
- 2-5+ years of experience in an energy or investment banking focused finance role
- 1-2 years of buy-side investing experience strongly preferred
- Strong financial modeling experience with ability to comfortably navigate an Excel modeling test
- Experience engaging with management teams
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
- Familiarity with DrillingInfo and Bloomberg a plus
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to own workflows and manage tasks independently
- Strong attention to detail

Sagefield Capital is a multi-strategy natural resources, energy transition, industrials/materials, utilities and event-driven long/short fund based in Dallas. We are seeking junior analyst candidates for the natural resources relative value team that can enhance the investment sourcing and diligence process with the role having a heavy emphasis on financial modeling. Please do not apply without an investment banking or equivalent corporate finance background. The role is based in Dallas.
