    Job Description:


    Polaris Alpha Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is hiring a Mathematician/Analyst whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission critical solutions.

    We seek scientists that are versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting edge tools.

    For this position, the Mathematician/Analyst will analyze, design, and be involved in implementation of advanced capabilities for armament systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

    The role includes design and implementation of software modules for new tactical fire control systems.

    Responsibilities:
    Data collection and analysis
    Develop models, computational methods, and solutions for scientific and engineering problems
    Algorithm development
    Demonstration and presentation of findings and solutions
    Work with software engineering team to translate solutions and algorithms into software implementation

    Qualifications:
    PhD in Applied Mathematics or similar field of study
    Demonstrated history of analytical thinking and solution application
    Experience with modeling applications / languages such as MATLAB, R, etc.
    Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

    Excellent organizational, communications, problem-solving and people skills, be a self-starter, and enjoy being part of and contributing to a hard-working team.

    Must have the ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.
    Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
    Must be able to travel. Anticipated travel level 5%-10%.

    Desired Capabilities:
    Experience or familiarity with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
    Be able to prototype implementations in a programming language like Python
    Software development lifecycle experience (SDLC), especially within the DoD
    Experience with Government standards and procedures.
    Understanding of, and experience working within, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
    Experience with or knowledge of U.S. Army tactical fire control systems

    Salary Range:
