    Job Description

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Low Voltage Wiring Technician is responsible for handling all on-site delivery, implementation, service, and support of wiring requirements for our clientele. This encompasses various low voltage wiring technologies, including Category 5e, Category 6, Fiber, Coax, Phone lines, and multimedia wiring.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Deployment and routing of structured low voltage cable in commercial settings
    • Configuration of wiring (Cat 5e/6, Coax, Fiber)
    • Arrangement and connection of distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)
    • Planning, execution, and maintenance of structured cabling solutions
    • Verification and tagging of all wire installations
    • Tackling connectivity problems
    • Setting up and affixing IP tools for network integration (Wireless AP, Cameras, speakers, etc.)
    • Establishing support frameworks for solutions (Racks, J-Hooks, conduits, etc.)
    • System documentation including reviews and suggestions
    • Client communication when necessary: ensuring they are updated on incident progression, informing them of upcoming changes, or agreed upon downtimes

    Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Enhancing customer service, perception, and contentment
    • Proficiency in teamwork and effective communication
    • Escalating service and project challenges that exceed agreed service levels
    • Keeping customers informed of progression, upcoming changes, or agreed downtimes, etc.
    • Business acumen: in-depth understanding of the customer and how IT aligns with their business strategy and objectives

    Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required: To excel in this role, one must proficiently carry out each essential duty. The prerequisites outlined below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.     • Consistent enhancement and escalation of capabilities and efficiency
    • Possession of fundamental telecom tools: punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, hard hat, boots, safety glasses, etc.
    • Reliable means of transportation
    • Interpersonal skills: encompassing telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer care
    • Diagnosis proficiency for technical challenges
    • Adaptation to multitasking and swift adjustments
    • Technical acumen: ability to align resources with technical challenges efficiently
    • Awareness of all key IT services within the organization that is receiving support
    • Comprehension of support tools, methodologies, and technology application in delivering IT services
    • Typing proficiency for prompt and precise input of service requests
    • Self-driven with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment
