- Provide peer support to individuals that utilize crisis stabilization unit.
- Engage individuals in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
- Develop and complete safety plans and/or establish goals and next steps with the individual.
- Provide resources as applicable.
- Ensure safety of all individuals while at CSU.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Up to 12 months of specialized training
- All applicants must be either a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) in the State of Indiana, or meet the eligibility requirements for the Certified Recovery Specialist Program for the State of Indiana. It will be required that a candidate hired without the certification must become certified with the first 3 months of employment to retain their position. Certification requires that a candidate "have lived experiences receiving mental health or substance use treatment and have been in recovery for at least one year". - We offer sponsorship (such as H-1B sponsorship) for the therapist position, but the applicant either must be licensed, or license-eligible, in LMHC, LCSW, LCAC or LMFT, which typically requires a U.S. degree.

About this role:
This is the final stage of A&C's building of services in the crisis continuum.
This position will allow clients to not only a person to call, a person to respond, but now a place to go.
As a peer support specialist, you will use your lived experience and story to support individuals that are coming into crisis and potentially asking for help for the first time.
