Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Radar Systems Engineer
supporting the
Ground Based Phased Array Radar Branch of the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Acquisition Delta (USSF SSC/SZGGP).
This is a full-time position at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road and Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO with an
opportunity to telework 1-2 days per week at the discretion of the Government after an initial 30days on site

Odyssey Systems is looking for high-performing, passionate people ready to make a difference by joining our existing team of dedicated professionals in the SDA workforceThe Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Acquisition Delta (USSF SSC/SZG) executes system acquisition, modernization, and sustainment for ground- and space-based SDA sensors and command and control (C2) systems.
Activities include acquisition program management, system, and subsystem engineering, maintenance and supply support, and fielding.Odyssey Systems provides support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration.
These tasks are executed laterally with USSF SSC/SZG depot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders.Responsibilities:
As an
SDA Radar Systems Engineer , you will perform a wide range of engineering tasks, research, studies, and analysis that provide engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering disciplines.
As an SDA Radar Systems Engineer, you will provide A&AS support for the engineering and testing of Advanced and Legacy SDA radar systems.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Draft, review, and provide input during the development of overarching system requirements and design documentation to include technical requirements documents (TRD); capability description documents (CDD); capability production documents (CPD); interface control documents (ICDs);
system specifications and system, test and acceptance documentation
Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, and approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness
Provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering IPTs.
Support development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenariosParticipate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/system delivery
Develop, plan, and implement, strategies; develop analysis; analyze and evaluate test results for complex system and subsystem test and evaluation activities; perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and procedures
Support the development of system test plans in accordance with project technical, schedule, and cost constraints, support site and system test activities with contractor and Program Office personnel
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules; identify program risks and mitigations
Coordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors other support contractors; monitor contractor performance during Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), fielding, Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Operational Acceptance (OA)
Identify and track development and sustainment risks in support of Government activities; develop and execute technology insertion and risk reduction strategies, studies, and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditions
Provide relevant input to acquisition planning activities, upgrades and modifications, and studies and interface with stakeholders, contractor personnel, and product integrators
Develop and maintain relationships with DoD, Air Force, Space Force, and Intelligence Community stakeholders throughout the Space Domain Awareness enterprise
Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction
Other duties as required/requested by the Government and within the scope of the S3 contract

Citizenship:
Must be a US citizen
Clearance:
Must hold an active Secret clearance, and be eligible to obtain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering (RF), or a related discipline
OR,
12 years of radar systems engineering
Years of Experience:
4 or more years of relevant experience with 2 years in a Systems Engineering or Test Engineering role supporting similar Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Space Surveillance systems
OR,
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering (RF), or a related discipline with 2 or more years of relevant experience in a Systems Engineering or Test Engineering role supporting similar Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Space Surveillance systems
Preferred
Qualifications:
Clearance:
Preferred active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
Certifications:
Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Department of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) or equivalent certification in Test and Evaluation, Engineering, or Program Management
Experience in DoD software and hardware waterfall development efforts
Experience with sensors, particularly radars

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
