    Job Responsibilities:
    Performs routine Computed Tomography (CT) and densitometry procedures according to established protocols. Determines technical and positioning factors to obtain quality images. Makes patient care related judgments and implements appropriate actions within legal, professional, and ethical standards. Explains procedures to patient and answers questions or concerns. Observes patient for distress or difficulty and reports such incidents to appropriate staff. Determines appropriate technique, positioning and shielding in order to minimize radiation exposure and maintain radiation safety guidelines where applicable.

    Documents appropriate information in the Heath Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and other information system programs.

    Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.

    Maintains and promotes compliance with all regulatory requirements, reimbursement standards, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility.

    Completes annual competency and testing requirements. Consistently achieves high standards of accuracy in work product and documentation. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Institutional and Departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any safety issues related to equipment, employee/patient/visitors, or other safety issues to supervisor and/or biomedical engineers. Completes quality control procedures as assigned and requiredEffectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner. Monitors utilization of supplies to ensure adequate inventory; avoids waste of supplies. Identifies workflow, patient care or supply related improvement opportunities. Monitors condition of equipment and facility and takes personal responsibility to report problems to supervisor or biomedical engineer. Uses time efficiently and effectively to meet job responsibilities and assignments. Promotes quality of care and cost effectiveness within the department through appropriate utilization of equipment, supplies, and labor. Plans and completes other related tasks as assigned to meet Institutional and Departmental goals and objectives.
    Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions. Enjoys serving patients and customers; handles difficult situations and customer concerns effectively, and has a reputation for responding quickly. Communicates with, establishes, and maintains effective relations and interactions with internal and external customers. Demonstrates ability to quickly and willingly change behavior and methods to respond to business needs. Handles multiple tasks and is flexible enough to accommodate new requests. Functions as a mentor for new and current associates, students and physicians. Assists in the development of others through guidance and teaching. Promotes professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.

    Communicates appropriate information and promotes a positive learning environment for new and current associates, physicians, students, and other professional and technical staff.


    PATIENT GROUPS SERVED:

    Infants (birth - 1 year), Toddlers (1-3 years), Preschooler (3-5 years), School-age (6-11 years), Adolescent years), Adult Performs other related duties assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the hospital/department.

    Maintains regular and predictable attendance.


    Minimum Education and/or Training:
    Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program required

    Minimum Experience:


    One year of imaging experience required: X-ray, CT, MRI or IRCT experience preferredLicensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-(ARRT) RT(R).


    Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
    Must obtain CT specialty registration from ARRT within 12 months of start date, (ARRT) RT(R), CTSt.

    CompensationIn recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

    This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

    It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

    A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $ $50.50 per hour for the role of CT Technologist.
