    Product Codes and Regulatory Compliance Engineer

    to research ongoing and emerging legislation and regulations with an outcome of providing analysis and development of program recommendations pertaining to Kolbe products in meeting the regulatory changes the window and door industry encounters from federal and state legislation.

    Responsibilities

    Researchs and identifies product and emerging industry related regulatory developments relating to changing codes and potential design issue modifications by monitoring short-term and long -range legislative issues being worked on within the federal and state levels.

    Serve as subject matter expert for emerging laws, building industry regulatory issues and trends relating to product sustainability efforts taking place within the window & door industry.

    Work to achieve product and its interrelated building code compliance by researching and developing compliance alternatives for adoption.

    Work with stakeholders in the adoption of code required modifications, including recommendations for product materials used in or relating to the production or shipment of Kolbe windows and doors.

    Monitor changes to reporting standards and best in class cooperate behavior.

    Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with industry professionals and internal company departments including design teams to review design data and aid in developing compliance initiatives.

    Support supply chain monitoring activities, data gathering and analysis.

    Collaborate with outside and inside resources to prioritize lists of products requiring code modifications or that contain materials exceeding regulatory requirements for which suitable alternatives need to be found and approved.

    Measure and document environmental, code, or regulatory cost saving impacts from recommendations and implemented results, tracking sustainable product revenues

    Qualifications:

    Understanding of regulatory frameworks.

    Knowledge of production planning, manufacturing methods and procedures, and quality control.

    Critical thinking, problem solving, strategic, and analytical skills; ability to make data-driven recommendations.

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written along with presentations skills.

    Bachelors degree in industrial, mechanical, or environmental engineering or related field.

    Experience in working with code officials and regulatory processes.

    2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in compliance.

    Results oriented with an ability to operate multiple projects.

    Self-starter with superior organizational skills.

    Willingness and ability to participate in internal and industry related working groups and panels.
