    Secure Transport Driver Pay Range:
    Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

    Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

    Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

    Salary:
    $14.27-$21.41 DOE

    Secure Transport Driver Summary :

    Secure transport drivers approved under OAR may transport a person in custody or on Diversion to an approved holding hospital or approved non-hospital facility.

    Secure Transport will only be used for persons taken into custody by a peace officer or community mental health program director or designee, after it has been determined that there is probable cause to believe the individual is dangerous to self or others and is in need of immediate care, custody or treatment for mental illness.

    Secure Transport Driver Education & Experience: Must meet the following qualifications:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Secure Transport Driver Requirements:


    Provide current and up to date contact information to my supervisor indicating how I can be reached while serving in an On-Call status.

    Remain work-ready, physically, and mentally unimpaired, fit for duty and able to safely perform all essential functions of the job.

    Provide availability for on-call status at least 30 days in advance with my schedule of availability.

    When scheduled for on-call availability, the individual will be available to arrive within 1 hour of being contacted by their supervisor.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    Drivers must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must pass Oregon motor vehicle record check and not have any at fault accidents within the past three years. A CDL is not required for this position. Drivers must be at least 21 years of age. Must complete and maintain competency in CPR/First Aid and Pro-Act training.

    Secure Transport Driver Responsibilities:
    Drivers must treat all clients with respect and dignity, upholding all client's rights.
    Attend mandatory trainings as outlined below to comply with KBBH, state and federal regulatory requirements.
    Passenger sensitivity and safety course within 3 months of hire or when next course is available.

    Pro-Act and Pro-Act Restraint Certification course within 3 months of hire, or as soon as next course is available and a refresher course annually thereafter.

    this course includes the proper use, removal and maintenance of mechanical restraints, management of aggressive behaviors and crisis communication.
    Bloodborne pathogens training within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
    CPR and First Aid training and certification within 3 months of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
    Defensive driving training
    Any other qualifications when required by a contract or financing arrangement approved by the Addictions and Mental Health Division.
    Must pass a criminal record check. Re-checks will take place every two years or sooner if an individual has been arrested.

    Must complete upon hire and annually thereafter who is covered and what constitutes abuse as defined by OAR and ORS, and whom to contact to report abuse.

    Proper application of mechanical restraints and standards for the proper use of mechanical restraint.
    Proper use and application of soft restraints.
    Proper patient checks.
    Monitor and document patients' activity during transport to ensure their personal welfare and safety.
    Cooperates with treatment team to ensure each patient's treatment plan is being successfully completed.
    Comply with all transportation laws and follow all vehicle/client securement and safety procedures while performing transportation.
    Be familiar with the geographic area in which drivers will provide service.
    After training, be able to proficiently use any special equipment installed on the secure transport vehicles.
    Reviews, interprets, and completes documentation to meet KBBH and Oregon Administrative Rules and regulatory requirements.
    Secure Transport will operate with a minimum of two staff members per vehicle when transporting a client.

    One staff member will be designated as the driver and the second staff member will be designated as the observer to insure the client's safety.

    Prior to and after each use of the transport vehicle, the staff will insure that the vehicle has been checked and cleared of any debris or soil left behind.

    The Secure Transport Team will utilize the most cost-effective and/or safest route available to drivers.

    Secure Transport Team will complete all internal required paperwork and complete the vehicle maintenance check after the completion of each transport.

    In the event of any accident, injury, illness/health problem, serious behavioral incident, complaint by client, family or public, or property destruction the Secure Transport Team driver will inform KBBH immediately via telephone and will complete the Incident/Accident Report with a full description of the incident/accident.

    Once the form is completed, it is sent to the Mobile Crisis Supervisor for signature.
    Secure transport drivers will be familiar with and follow all secure transport policies and procedures.
