Job DescriptionBoard Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

BCBAs: Are you looking for a company that finally puts its money where its mouth is? Are you looking for a work/life balance? Do you yearn for a company where you can do your job without the red tape? Then, April ABA is the place for you.

April ABA is not your typical start-up. We are a clinician-operated, clinician-owned, female, and veteran-run organization whose mission is to support clinical systems so clinicians can focus on what's important: providing strong clinical care to individuals with autism.

We are looking for a well-rounded BCBA who exhibits progressive views in providing behavior analytic services, can work collaboratively with other clinicians and non-clinicians, and shares in our primary value of protecting ABA services for our field and the betterment of our clients.

    What you can expect:

    • Support your work/life cycle. We have developed systems to support clinicians in navigating any personal or professional needs during their employment.
    • Our Directors and non-clinical employees focus on systems analysis, performance management, and behaviorally-based safety so clinicians can efficiently incorporate those systems into treatment.
    • Strong emphasis for clinicians to build business acumen. Our data is shared transparently so that our staff have the knowledge to be comfortable with the business component of the organization.
    • A tiered bonus structure that guarantees clinicians have multiple opportunities to access reinforcement
      • The bonus structure involves operational (billable hours) AND clinical (treatment integrity scores, client progress, RBT performance, etc.) elements.
      • Staff are held accountable for the variables that are truly in their control
    • PTO means PTO. Billable hours are prorated during PTO and holidays.
    • Transparency with caseload decisions.
      • Our unique caseload structure assigns cases based on a combination of diagnostic, environmental, and family variables.
      • Caseloads are adjusted up when clients make progress according to our system and are adjusted down if these variables increase. The decision to adjust caseloads is a collaborative decision between clinician and supervisor.
      • Clinicians will always be able to prepare for changes in their caseload based on our system, never exceeding 25 hours per week.
    • Clinical growth opportunities. We have strong connections with leaders in the field who provide continuing education to our staff.

    Pre-Requisite Skills:

    • Ability to effectively and respectively communicate clinical and ethical topics, engaging in professional humility.
    • Promote a positive, psychologically safe environment.
    • Strong time management skills, including being proactive about when you need support.
    • Foundational clinical skills and ability to identify boundaries of competence.
    • Emerging or foundational operational skills.
    • Strong supervision skills.

    Job Requirements:

    • Conduct initial and re-assessment authorizations for clients on your caseload, adhering to insurance and organizational requirements and time frames.
    • Meet billable hour requirements.
    • Supervise and coach RBTs according to organizational and BACB standards.
    • Adhere to the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code.
    • Implement clinical best practice standards set forth by the organization and other leading organizations (e.g., CASP, BHCOE).
    • Build rapport with caregivers and provide education in treatment plan implementation.
    • Coordinate care activities with all providers.
    • Participate in supervision meetings with Directors to report on client progress.

    Benefits:

    • Competitive salaries based on experience
    • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance

    • Company sponsored 401(k)
