    Supply Chain Manager

    The Manager of Supply Chain Management will play a crucial role as part of the local senior operations leadership team, adding significant value to Ducommun Aero Structures by spearheading the design and continuous implementation of a competitive supply chain framework.

    The incumbent will oversee all supply chain aspects for the site.

    Founded as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush, Ducommun later played a pivotal role in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by supplying aircraft aluminum to early aerospace visionaries like Lindbergh, Douglas, and Lockheed.

    Today, Ducommun stands as a global innovator in manufacturing solutions for clients in the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.

    Specializing in cutting-edge electronic and structural systems, we manufacture intricate products and components for commercial aircraft models, critical military and space programs, and advanced industrial applications.

    Our Parsons, Ks facility engineers precise parts for both civilian and military aircraft, where global travelers trust in our employees' unwavering commitment to excellence.
    Implement the supply chain vision and strategic leadership at the DAS location level.

    Responsibilities include overseeing planning and execution activities related to business processes, system development and utilization, cost estimation, source selection, strategic partnerships, supplier management, compliance/governance, and program execution.

    ~ Supervise site supply inventory and collaborate closely with internal clients to achieve operational excellence in material, equipment, and service procurement.
    ~ Lead local supply chain teams in participating and enhancing cross-site processes and procedures, fostering efficiency and standardization across all DAS locations.
    ~ Establish and manage a top-performing supply chain team, involving selection, training, development, succession planning, and performance evaluation.
    ~ Manage the annual procurement budget in alignment with company goals and objectives. Collaborate with site leadership and teams to enhance business performance in supply chain management and ensure superior internal and external customer satisfaction.
    ~ Implement best practices and strategies in the supply chain realm to continually enhance procurement processes and procedures.
    ~ Drive supply chain systems and processes to secure optimal prices, quality, and delivery schedules, reflecting in site metrics.
    ~ Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and management activities. Cultivate and sustain relationships with suppliers to ensure a dependable supply of high-quality goods and information.
    ~ Develop site-specific metrics to evaluate and enhance the supply chain's value based on divisional objectives; Identify and advocate for IT solutions and trends to refine supply chain management and achieve cost efficiencies.
    ~ Oversee critical external and internal supply chain aspects to support inventory management objectives.
    ~ Contribute to Strategic Supply Chain development, encompassing identifying new supplier prospects, preparing proposals, devising 'win strategy', and attaining contract awards.
    ~ Demonstrated proficiency in quality systems, lean practices, continuous improvement methodologies, and state-of-the-art supply chain approaches is essential.
    ~ Proven track record in building and nurturing a high-performance team of supply chain practitioners is vital.
    ~ Experience in commodity management and operations/materials management is highly desirable.
    ~ Some exposure to managing logistics concerning customer shipments is advantageous.
    ~ Willingness to travel to other DAS sites and supplier locations as needed; Regarded as a go-to individual for critical business and supply chain matters.
    ~Capable of earning respect across all organizational levels, making an immediate impact.
    ~Adept at collaborating with and earning the trust of senior management, peers, and staff.
    ~Thorough understanding and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct, and policies.

    • Proficient in operating within a small, financially prudent organization that may necessitate flexibility and diverse responsibilities
    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. A Master's Degree or MBA is preferred.
    Minimum of 7-10 years of comprehensive supply chain management experience in progressively senior roles. Experience must include senior-level supply chain management within the aerospace and defense industry.
