    The Director of Advanced Technologies directs all operational, administrative, instructional, and financial activities of the Electronic Technology and Robotics and similar programs. This position serves as a community liaison by developing partnerships among northwest Arkansas industry groups, career, and technology education centers, area high schools, and universities.

    The Director oversees program development and growth; hiring of new faculty members; recruiting and advising students; developing program materials; hosts information sessions and assists with marketing. This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the internship program and the WIOWA grant, overseeing the all certificate and degree programs in electronic technology and robotics, assessments, related industry certifications, accreditation and review processes.

    Essential Duties

    • Provides oversight for the development, expansion and administration of the Electronic Technology and Robotic and similar programs and grant(s). Manages the operational functions including recruitment, scheduling, enrollment, financial performance and learning assessment of programs, students, staff and faculty as appropriate.
    • Collaborates with internal NWACC departments, external workforce development entities, and industry representatives to address current and emerging workforce education needs. Oversees the development of course offerings and schedules for each semester. Teaches an instructional load of up to 9 credit hours per semester. Advises prospective students, collaborates with Workforce peers and supervisor in developing strategic planning, program implementation, marketing efforts, and process improvements.
    • Develops and manages the Electronic Technology and Robotics and potentially other program-related budgets. Directs the National Accreditation process.
    • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

    Salary $70,000 annually

    • Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs.
    • Knowledge of campus and community resources.
    • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs.
    • Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs.
    • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations.
    • Ability to compile information into report form.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical technology, automation & systems integration, robotic technology, industrial technology, manufacturing & automation, or similar.

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate degree in Automation and Systems Integration Technology, Manufacturing Automation, Robotic Technologies, Industrial Technology, or similar.
    • Technical Certifications and/or Training: Manufacturing Technologies, FANUC Robot Operation, Rockwell Automation certifications: SLC 500, RSLogix 500 Programming, SLC 500, RSLogix 500 Maintenance & Troubleshooting, ABB, Studio.
    • Proficiency in programming & operation of CNC machines.
    • Experience in the use of SolidWorks CAD system.
    • Demonstrated experience in the use of multimeters, PLCs, mechanical systems including pneumatics, schematics for set up, breakdown, and troubleshooting.
