    Description


    This position will report to the Controller and assist others in all departments in relation to accounting and financial support.

    Key ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
    Manage accounts payable, including payment process, in a timely mannerAssist in ensuring an accurate and timely month-end and year-end closePrepare and enter journal entries for transactions, distributions, and monthly reportingPrepare monthly bank reconciliations for various propertiesPrepare monthly reportsObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure for external auditsAssist with budget and forecasting activities for property portfoliosMonitor and analyze departmental work to develop efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracyRespond to inquiries from internal and external parties regarding financial results, special reports and other requestsWork with auditors and outside tax accountants to ensure all information and report requests are addressed in a timely and accurate mannerPrepare annual 1099s for vendorsAssist in tenant CAM reconciliationsReview entity tax returns and partner K-1sCommunicate with tenants regarding monthly rent statements and collection as necessaryReview lien waivers and construction drawsCalculate investor distributionsAid in strategic development and implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance performance workflow and internal controlsComplete special projects, workflow process improvements, and other duties as assignedEducation And ExperienceBA/BS in in Business with an emphasis in AccountingCPA preferredDemonstrated progressive experience in financial reportingPrevious experience communicating with external auditorsMust have strong experience with Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of real estate accounting software, Rent Manager preferredCommunication And Relationship SkillsAbility to read and comprehend instructions given from written and oral sourcesAbility to effectively present information to top management, other employees, as well as partners and investorsStrong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communicationMath SkillsAbility to understand mathematical relationships and formulasAbility to understand and employ accounting mathematicsAbility to manage and track budgetsReasoning AbilityAbility to work independently and know when to seek guidance from leadershipAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to identify problems and determine the best course of action for their resolution, including knowing when to communicate and engage othersAbility to think analytically and proactively solve problemsDemonstrates sound discretion, professional judgement and business ethics in decision making#J-18808-Ljbffr
