    Job Summary/Overview

    Infra Technology team within Samsung Austin Semiconductor is the Facilities team which owns processes and equipment used to supply utilities such as Electricity, Gas, and Chemical, Ultra-Pure Water, etc.

    to the FAB Manufacturing processes.

    Infra QA is the Quality department for the Infra Tech team that monitors and improves Quality and Reliability through short-term and long-term Engineering initiatives and drive Reliability improvements.

    Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance TR, IQA Reliability Engineer will facilitate Reliability projects based on operative data analysis focus on risk reduction and availability improvement for all the facilities systems at Austin and Taylor, Texas.

    Specific Job Duties


    • Identify equipment and components that represents a risk to the organization and determine systems reliability, availability and maintainability
    • Define improvement strategies based on systems design, process configuration and operative practices
    • Standardize, monitor and improve Infra-Wide Reliability KPIs (OEE, PM/BM ratio, MTBF, MTTF and MTTR Improvements) by closely working with individual departments' Equipment Engineers
    • Coordinate a team of cross-functional engineers with different engineering backgrounds with the vision of developing world's best FABs in the United States.
    • Lead the implementation of Infra wide reliability programs for equipment owned by Infra Technology team
    • Become Subject Matter Expert on Reliability analysis and Samsung CMMS software
    • Lead Data Management system (PDM) implementation for product data, P&ID, 2D and 3D drawings
    • Lead risk assessments for any critical process and equipment change with potential to affect FAB operations
    • Review and report Reliability and Maintenance data to executive management periodically with improvement actions to remedy any weaknesses in the systems
    • The candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge in RBD (Reliability Block Diagram) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis)
    • Strong background in Reliability concepts such as FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, and Maintenance types, MTTF, MTBF and MTTR concepts, etc
    • The candidate must possess strong Quality and Reliability background with working experience on critical quality tools like Pareto Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control, FMEA, etc.
    • Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills with previous equipment ownership experience.
    • Familiarity with feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to determine effectiveness of projects
    • The candidate must demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills required to interface with stakeholders across the SAS Infra Technology, FAB Engineering and Construction to both sustain regular operations and drive quality and reliability projects.
    • The candidate must be familiar with data analysis with focus on Process and Equipment reliability
    • Possess Strong teamwork, and verbal and written communication with impeccable presentation skills
    • The candidate must be experienced in developing and maintaining controlled documents
    • Aptitude and desire to learn new skills
    • Ability to thrive in a multi-culture environment
    • BS in an Engineering field (Mech, Electrical, Chem, Civil, Ind) is mandatory
    • Master's degree in Engineering or Science is a plus
    • Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing experience driving reliability improvements
    • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing
    • Reliability certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is a plus
