    Description

    This is a full-time, direct placement for Macomb Mechanical

    Summary:

    Seeking an estimating professional for the HVAC (Hydronic Piping and Sheet Metal) markets; must be capable of assembling an accurate estimate and a corresponding detailed proposal for the customer. Candidate must have experience with commercial HVAC systems, along with a general understanding of HVAC/Mechanical systems and components. An understanding of system design and load calculations/equipment sizing is a benefit, but not essential to the position.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Plumbing and HVAC Estimating or Design: 3 years (Required)
    • Candidate ideally will possess a general understanding of the layout of Plumbing, Piping and HVAC Duct Systems
    • Be able to accurately identify, quantify and record piping and ductwork sizes and quantities associated with the various mechanical systems. We will provide training for our proprietary estimating platform.
    • Review all bid document and seek clarifications during the bid process to ensure an accurate bid is assembled.
    • Experience in developing budgets, unit pricing, pipe sizing, and general code compliance are preferred.
    • Ability to concurrently bid/manage multiple projects simultaneously and create a detailed estimate with appropriate material, labor & subcontractor selections; alternates and unit pricing when required; and corresponding proposal to identify the bidder's work scope.
    Beneficial Education, Certifications & Skills:
    • BSME in Engineering/HVAC or Construction/Sales/Business Management
    • Communication, relationship building and customer service
    • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
    • Familiar with RS Means, PHCC and other Labor Calculator Manuals
    • Work in an open/team environment and have the ability to work independently
    • Strong multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills
