Description
1. Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities.
- Utilizes internal and external resources appropriately.
- Documents according to entity/department guidelines.
- Set up, adjusts and operates medical equipment and instruments.
- Performs testing ordered by patient's physician and works closely with, and assists, Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians.
- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures to insure safety and comfort while preparing for and while undergoing ultrasound procedures.
- Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency using and/or modifying established procedures, to assure timely completion of work in conformance with department policies and procedures.
- Evaluates ultrasound images for technical quality
- Maintain adequate imaging records and label all images with proper identification
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of departmental and Hospital policies and procedures as they pertain to the job, including the fire and disaster plans. Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Ability to accurately perform Level II obstetrical ultrasound exams in a timely manner, including multiple gestations.
- Provide Ultrasound guidance for invasive procedures such as amniocentesis.
- Perform First Trimester Nuchal Translucency scans.
- Obtains all clinical information available through charts, previous imaging, lab tests, etc. prior to exams.
- Schedules and receives patients for exams.
- Checks and maintains supplies as necessary.
- Maintains sterilization of equipment using appropriate cleaning procedures involved with specialized equipment.
- Knowledge of growth and development of Fetal Anatomy.
- All certifications and registrations must be maintained, active and current.
- Performs administrative and other tasks as requested.
- Must read, write and communicate in English
- Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and registered in OB/GYN
- Nuchal Translucency certification required
- 1-2 Years previous experience in high risk OB ultrasound to include Doppler, M-Mode, and Real Time Modalities
- Current BLS
