- Excel at the following Project Management skills:
- Facilitate the creation of project requirements, business cases, project-level and executive summaries.
- Define and review project scope and successfully plan and track execution.
- Identify and help secure resources required to execute the plan.
- Create and maintain project plans to accomplish stated goals.
- Identify, log, analyze, and manage project issues and risks.
- Proactively address deviations from project plans or schedules and keep participants on track.
- Facilitate project meetings, including the creation of agendas, preparation of materials, and documentation of meeting minutes and results.
- Provide status reports on project progress for project stakeholders and applicable leadership groups.
- Vendor solicitation and selection management including Request for Proposal (RFP) / Request for Information (RFI) package creation.
- Effectively use the appropriate tools to manage projects with varying degrees of complexity.
- Work closely with all project stakeholder groups to coordinate project milestones.
- Understand and translate cross-team dependencies into actionable plans.
- Work with multiple stakeholders in the Business, K&I, and IG to meet the desired objectives.
- Determine the most appropriate PMO methodology for assigned projects.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding and ability to successfully perform the following Senior Project Manager skillsets:
- Mentor new or junior level Project Managers.
- Lead efforts outside of normal project management duties to help streamline or automate current processes.
- Set standards for how the team manages projects.
- Continually exhibit the ability to effectively deliver on projects of various complexities.
- Has an excellent understanding of the various teams within the firm and within the assigned K&I/IG project area.
- Travel to offices to facilitate meetings and verify project progress when necessary.
- Portfolio management responsibilities to include:
- Assists in the collection and documentation of the yearly IT projects wish list.
- Helps to track down high-level requirements and costs for wish list projects.
- Keeps up to date with all designated portfolio projects/initiatives (with or without a PM).
- Updates information in our service management system (e.g., ServiceNow) to keep portfolio information as up to date as possible (i.e., start/end dates, assigned resources, and percent complete).
- Understand the Firm's capabilities, assets, skills, and resource capacity.
- Help balance conflicting portfolio priorities and take corrective actions to remove project roadblocks.
- Prepare financial and risk analysis to help senior management rank and prioritize projects.
- Apply portfolio management best practices to establish benchmark data to use for continuous process improvements.
- Work with portfolio owners to continuously review and optimize their portfolio to ensure ongoing alignment with evolving organizational goals, market opportunities, and threats.
- Is known by peers and leadership as the go-to owner of projects within the assigned portfolio.
- Serves as Project Manager on multiple, concurrent projects or programs of various sizes and complexity
- Special projects and duties as assigned
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to organize, lead, facilitate, and manage status and other meetings as needed.
- Proficient in MS suite of products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Ability to interact with technical, managerial, and executive-level staff.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Formal project management training and certification (PMP) preferred.
- Agile Methodology experience is desired.
- 7+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and tasks.
- Involvement working within technical teams through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Some travel may be required.
- Law Firm experience strongly preferred
