    This position is responsible for all electrical fixtures and components located on Union University properties.

    Essential Job Duties


    • Assembles fixtures and equipment for the purpose of providing items in working condition.
    • Repairs all electrical components.
    • Taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
    • Inspects all general building fixtures and items for the purpose of evaluating conditions and identifying repairs.
    • Completing all tasks associated with the trade.
    • Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring safe operation.
    • Performs routine PMs.
    • Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and the comfort of our students, faculty, and staff if necessary.
    • Other duties as requested by the Director to aid in daily operations of the university.
    Other Job Duties Required Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Candidates must be able to follow oral and written instructions with minimum supervision. Candidates must also be familiar with safety measures in the area of specialty.


    Physical requirements include:

    the ability to bend, stoop and lift a minimum of 25 pounds; have average strength and be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time; able to climb stairs or ladders; and have the ability to transport moderately heavy equipment to and from buildings.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preference will be given to applicants with 2-3 years of previous experience in the electrical field.
