We are looking for Fiber Splicers who play a vital role in ensuring prompt and high-quality Telecommunications services for our clients. Responsibilities include interpreting schematics and diagrams for splicing, terminating, and testing fiber-optic connections for new constructions and service setups. Additionally, the role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and addressing issues in the outside plant network.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain new and existing fiber
• Prepare and splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables, including single, ribbon, and loose tube types
• Splice and repair fiber optic cables using fusion equipment
• Terminate fiber using various connectors
• Test fiber using optical testing equipment
• Install required hardware
• Perform cable entries and splicing in an active network
• Maintain plant to avoid signal failures
• Respond to network outages and perform necessary repairs
• Keep detailed records of project progress
• Maintain splice equipment, trailers, and vehicles
• Conduct certification testing of fiber optic systems
• Adhere to safety regulations and organizational policies
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Complete other assigned duties

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience preferred
• Knowledge of fiber optic theory, connector types, and fiber varieties preferred
• Experience with ribbon and loose tube fiber, including deribbonizing and ribbonizing preferred
• Ability to test fiber and operate splicing machines preferred
• Proficiency in working with different fiber sizes and colors preferred
• Ability to read splicing matrices and work in various environments preferred
• Efficient workload management with high quality standards
• Strong prioritization and adaptability skills
• Ability to work independently and identify safety concerns
• Document testing results per specifications
• Good communication and organizational abilities
• Proficiency with MS Office and web-based tools
• Self-motivated with great attention to detail

Time Commitment

• Willingness to travel up to 100%; may include overnight stays
• Flexible hours, including evening, overnight, and weekend shifts
• On-call rotation possibility

General Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Pass DOT physical
• Piece-rate pay after training, must provide hand tools
• Comfort working in various environments and conditions
• Able to work at heights and operate equipment

• Neat and professional appearance
