    We are currently looking for a **Cook** for My Brothers Keeper a program in Baltimore City.

    **SCHEDULE:**

    **Week 1: Sun: 7am - 3pm**

    **Mon: 7am - 3pm**

    **Tues: OFF**

    **Wed: OFF**

    **Thurs: 7am - 3pm**

    **Fri: 7am - 3pm**

    **Sat: 7am - 3pm**

    **Week 2: Sun: 8:30am - 12:30pm**

    **Mon: OFF**

    **Tues: 7am - 3pm**

    **Wed: 7am - 3pm**

    **Thurs: 7am - 3pm**

    **Fri: 7am - 3pm**

    **Sat: 8:30am - 12:30pm**

    The Cook performs daily cooking and meal preparation of large batches of food that will be served to our clients in a fast-paced environment. Position coordinates the overall daily operation of the kitchen, clean, assist other cooks and staff, and deliver food while following food health and safety procedures.

    **Cook Responsibilities:**

    Prepare and serve meals in conjunction with volunteers.

    Plan menus, ensure apportionments and good nutrition, and ensure utilization of donated food.

    Train, coach and monitor kitchen volunteers, and ensure food safety compliance.

    Receive and properly store food donations.

    Clean kitchen areas and equipment.

    Maintain records and statistics.

    Assist Supervisor with food inventory.

    **Cook Requirements:**

    High School Diploma or GED.

    1 - 2 years cooking experience in commercial kitchen/restaurant environment.

    Must have valid ServSafe Food Manager Certification or obtain it within six months of employment, and must maintain certification to remain in position thereafter

    Reliability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance.

    Good communication skills with professional demeanor toward staff, clients, and volunteers.

    Has ability to work with limited direction and plan / organize work assignments.

    Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

    Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. Basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e. Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), online training, and Microsoft Outlook skills required. Other Microsoft Office application knowledge, such as Word and Excel desired.

    Must have the ability to maintain proper food safety requirements and standards.

    Due to essential nature of business, must have reliable means of transportation and be available for work, regardless of weather conditions.
