    Position Description:

    Develops data conversions in SAS, Linux, and DB2 environments. Provides data conversion solutions by developing conversion software applications and routines. Develops software applications using mainframe technology. Analyzes data and publishes results using SAS EG. Copies data using Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) best practices. Complies with data conversion and implementation standards. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
    • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
    • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
    • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
    • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
    • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
    • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
    • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
    • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
    • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
    • Interacts with data consultants to get feedback on internal tools and processes.
    • Enhances job performance workflows.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing conversion software applications and routines, and executing data conversions in SAS, Python, Linux, and DB2 environments.

    Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing conversion software applications and routines, and executing data conversions in SAS, Python, Linux, and DB2 environments.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    Candidate must also possess:

    • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) designing and implementing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes by developing programs and workflows, using SAS Enterprise Guide tool; developing LINUX scripts for processing ETL workflows and backend jobs; and designing and developing data audit jobs using SAS, SQL, Python, and identifying bottlenecks in ETL packages and providing appropriate solutions.
    • DE designing and developing data models and databases to ensure interoperability with Business solutions using SAS, complex transactional SQL queries within DB2, SAS EG, SQL Server, Linux, and Oracle databases; performing database management and capacity planning on Oracle and DB2 databases using SQL queries; and creating corrective measures by identifying performance issues using SQL queries.
    • DE performing data profiling, mining, specification, extraction, cleansing, and analysis for large data files, using DB2, SAS, SQL Server, Linux, and Oracle; and designing and developing data audit control jobs using SAS, SAS EG, and SQL, and data audit automation internal tool using Python, Flask, SQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
    • DE configuring continuous build and integration flows using SAS Jobs within Windows and Linux; and scripting automated application deployment flows.
