Janitor

An employee in this position will ensure that the establishment's premises are presentable and clear of any trash. Success in this role will be demonstrated by maintaining a clean and orderly establishment for the employees and the public.
Essential Functions:

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, or designee, the duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Clean the interior of the building including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls.
2. Perform maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs and other minor repairs.
3. Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
4. Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed.
5. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in common areas and hallways.
6. Operate floor scrubber and other equipment as needed.
7. Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass, and trim.
8. Empty trash from receptacles in various rooms and haul it to the dumpster.
9. Perform minor repairs on machinery, equipment, and tools.
10. Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions.
11. Clean and maintain restrooms.
12. Follow directions from a supervisor.
13. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. 18 years or older
2. A high school diploma or GED
3. A valid drivers license and proof of insurance
4. A driving record must make you insurable.
5. Must complete a successful background check.

Job Skills and Abilities:

1. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and lead a team.
2. Have good interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to operate custodial equipment, including vacuum, mop, floor scrubber.
4. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, bend, reach and grasp items.
5. Good time-management skills.
