    Job Summary:

    Position available 3rd shift. Must have the availability to train on 1st shift for 3-5 months.

    Associates engaged in coating operations who perform the following essential job functions:

    • Perform a variety of production tasks, including but not limited to – setting up equipment, adjusting and operating equipment, observing for proper functioning of equipment, inspecting and testing products, etc.
    • Accurately perform work assignments and computer transactions that are required to adjust inventory; accurately perform calculations using various units of measure.
    • Demonstrate ability to perform any of the various operations within the department.
    • Perform visual inspection of all materials used and produced.
    • Perform periodic preventative maintenance on equipment.
    • Maintain work flow and ensure use of proper materials and tools.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment; notify lead operator and/or supervisor of unsafe practices, conditions, or acts.
    • Achieve quality and throughput goals.
    • Perform work according to SPAR's, WI's, and verbal instructions; seek lead operator and/or supervisor assistance in resolving problems which are not covered by procedures.
    • Effectively communicate with other associates, lead operators, supervisors while maintaining the self-confidence and self-esteem of others; relay information to the next shift; voluntarily assist other associates, and communicate effectively to prevent problems from occurring.
    • Complete required verifications and paperwork/documentation, accurately and neatly.
    • Participate in training and assist with training, where applicable.
    • Collaborate and contribute to the development of new products, processes, and equipment.
    • Participate in problem-solving and take initiative to make changes through change control procedures.
    • Responsible for following all relevant regulations (e.g. ISO, FDA, OSHA, EPA, DEP, etc.) and company procedures.
    • Responsible for following all applicable waste handling procedures.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

    Job Specifications:

    • Requires high school diploma or equivalent, and previous production experience is highly desirable (preferably in web handling, such as paper or fabric manufacturing, printing, coating, etc.).
    • Use procedures and skills, which require considerable training, to carrying out assignments.
    • Operators work per instructions (verbal and written) and consult with lead operator and/or supervisor as needed on matters not specifically covered by instructions; work is cross-checked to review for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to instructions.
    • Conform to Company policies and procedures, Quality Systems, etc.
    • Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, and irritant chemicals; may be required to use personal protective equipment such as masks, uniforms, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, shields, etc.
    • Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities should be expected; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (objects 50-100 pounds with lift assist); requires common physical characteristics and abilities, such as above-average agility and dexterity.
    • The work involves the execution of procedures which make up a finished product of a broader scope; the component product affects the accuracy, reliability, or acceptability of further processing.
