    $10,000 SIGN ON BONUSRequired Education and Experience: Associate in Science degree in related science field along with successful completion of an approved formal training program in Histology. Active state of Florida license as a Histotechnologist. Registry with HT or HTL ASCP.


    Preferred Education and Experience:
    bachelors in science. A minimum of one year experience as a Histotechnologist to include cutting, grossing, embedding, processing, and IHC stains.
    Summary/ObjectiveHistotechnologists are responsible for the preparation of human tissue samples. They are trained in a variety of tissue preparation techniques, dermatopathology, GI, and prostate biopsies. They perform all routine histology, grossing, special stains, and IHC procedures. They are also responsible for placing tissue samples onto slides in preparation for examination by a pathologist.

    Essential FunctionsDetailed and reproducible results of routine and complex manual and automated Histology as ordered by the Clinician or Laboratory Director.

    Duties are produced in a timely manner and to allow for supervisory review when indicated.

    Performs and understands quality control programs including evaluation of staining, documentation of errors and corrective action, and the maintenance of records in the appropriate logs.

    Performs and records scheduled equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment problems, and provides immediate notification to department supervisor in the event of any malfunctions.

    Assures that all slides being sent out meet acceptable levels of quality for processing, sectioning, staining, and specimen accountability.
    Proficient operation of the LIS and other computer related programs. Keeps current with changes and upgrades to each system.
    Participates in proficiency testing programs along with other departmental quality assurance programs.

    Understands the importance of specimen integrity and recognizes any events that may compromise the quality of testing and reporting of results.
