    The Kentucky Department of Parks is seeking an Auditor I to work in the Human Resources Division.

    ThisAuditor I will perform entry level audit work in analysis of financial and statistical records, reports andstatements and accounting policies and procedures.

    Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Learns to prepare audit work documents. Ensure they are completed in an agreed upon manner and supportaudit findings, recommendations and reports.
    Conducts preliminary research for assigned audits. Begins applying professional auditing standards andprocedures to identify and analyze processes and make recommendations when necessary.

    Completes fieldwork portion of audit with some assistance and examines documentation to ensurecompliance with federal and/or state policies and regulations.

    Develops a working knowledge of applicable federal and state policies and regulations and assists indevelopment of the audit program and audit reports.

    Attends meetings and training sessions to develop and improve skills.

    The position is based out of Frankfort, KY. Travel to state parks and other office locations may be required.


    EDUCATION:


    Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree (which includes twenty semester hours or thirty quarter hours in accounting).

    Certification as Certified Public Accountant or as a Certified Internal Auditor will substitute for the required education.

    Incumbents working in this job title generally perform duties in an office setting. Frequent travel to audit sites required.
    Probationary Period
    This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
