Position Information Job Description APPLICANT MUST RESIDE IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO BE ELIGIBLE

The primary function of this adjunct position is to teach courses in the Engineering Technology Program.

Courses such as Manufacturing Processes, Applied Mechanics, Process Logic Controllers, Composites, Robotics, Electronics, Computer Numerically Controlled machining (lathe, mill, router etc.) and other manufacturing/engineering courses.

This position is sensitive and will require a criminal background check. Notice of E 'Verify participation. Essential Duties Summary Pursuant to the Manual of Policy 6.019, this is an adjunct instructional position.

Adjunct faculty shall not teach more than six semester hours in any given term without the prior recommendation of the division chair and approval of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Adjunct faculty are required to schedule a minimum of thirty minutes of office time each week per course.

When an office is unavailable, the faculty member should be available to meet with students for a commensurate period before or after class.

Coordinate with other faculty to develop course schedules for each semesterRecruit students into the programOffice hours are spent helping students with lecture material and lab work outside of class, reading and returning emails, and returning phone calls.

Other professional duties include; but are not limited to:

writing and grading tests, preparing for labs, looking for ways to improve delivery in class, updating course information on our course management system, preparing for committee meetings, attending committee meetings, and helping adjuncts with course-related problemsDevelop partnerships with local agencies pertinent to programs.

Attend professional development training, workshops, and seminarsMaintain memberships/participate in professional organizations to stay abreast of best practices within the field Required Qualifications Industry certifications in relevant subject matter and work experience may be accepted for alternative credentialing.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering from a regionally accredited institution with three or more years' experience in manufacturing or related industry with industry certifications preferred.

Ability to use current version of Microsoft Office.

Ability to use current Learning Management System (Canvas).Ability to use Lighthouse/Banner/Canvas to access class rosters, post grades, and communicate with students.

The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus as well as ability to determine the color of objects.
