    **Improving Lives, One Moment at a Time**

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respite Worker to join our team at Home of Guiding Hands. As a Respite Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with special needs.

    **About the Role:**

    As a Respite Worker, you will provide care, supervision, and companionship to people with developmental disabilities. Your typical week might include:

    • Supporting clients to engage in meaningful activities at home and in the community, such as playing at the park, doing homework, making crafts, attending physical therapy sessions, exploring the zoo, and learning life skills like cooking and laundry.
    • Assisting clients with daily living activities, including bathing and grooming, restroom use and continence management, dressing and undressing, meal preparation and feeding, and ambulating (lifting and transferring).
    • Travelling throughout assigned counties to complete sessions in family homes and other community locations.

    **Qualifications:**

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • Six months' experience providing care for someone in a personal, volunteer, or paid role.
    • A valid California Driver's license, safe driving record, and two years of licensed driving experience.
    • A functional smartphone or internet-enabled device to enter timesheet data.
    • The ability to proficiently read, write, understand, and speak English.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    **Physical Requirements/Work Environment:**

    The work environment for this position involves working with a variety of people in their home and in the community. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift objects weighing up to ten pounds repeatedly during a shift.
