to provide technical expertise and guidance to our
forensic engineering
team in Texas.
The Technical Director will serve as a subject matter expert, reviewing projects and technical drawings and mentoring and guiding other team members.

What You'll Do:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position.
50% of your time (Billable)
Perform
technical quality control
reviews on projects/reports across the company.
Perform final
RSG design reviews
acting as technical resource for project teams on an 'as-needed' basis.
Regularly perform technical quality control reviews on high-risk projects/reports across the company.
Review of all litigation cases , life-safety concerns, or complex structural reports
10% of your time (Billable)
Maintain
project load as project manager
and be responsible for all aspects of the project (scope, schedule, design, quality, execution, and invoicing).
20% of your time (Non-Billable)
Act as
subject matter expert , providing guidance, mentoring, oversight, and training on technical matters in the area of domain.
Identify areas of inconsistency and
develop processes/training
to remedy findings.
Serve as
final decision maker
(umpire) for any disagreement in technical matters between Technical Managers and Project Manager/Engineer/Architect. Serve as the account manager for all ES&F design-related software (Matteport, Drone, ELS, Autodesk, etc.)
15% of your time (Non-Billable)
Create technical standards, modules, work instructions, and procedures for others to review and follow.
Ensure you and your staff have access to up-to-date methods, materials, and principles related to the industry.
5% of your time (Non-Billable)
Travel to regional offices
to facilitate training or onboarding and establish and maintain relationships with technical staff across all offices. Degree of travel to be determined by staff needs.
Be seen, be heard, be read.
Participate in industry-specific training
and seminars, publish technical papers, and present at industry conferences.
Acts as liaison and
champion of technical standards , curriculum development, and training with the leadership team.
Maintain all
company technical certification records
and recommend what certifications or licensure are needed within the company on an annual basis.
What You'll Bring:
High School Diploma
and/or a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience OR a
Bachelor's Degree
in architecture, engineering, or construction with one industry-relevant certification or licensure.
10+ years of Building Enclosure Systems
experience
5+ years of successful leadership
and management of teams
Strong AutoCAD, Revit , math, geometry, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of how to arrive at mechanical, electrical, and structural loads, i.e., mathematical formulas, and can figure loads out without the assistance of electrical or mechanical devices or spreadsheets.
Customer Serviceexperience.
Ability to read and understand elevator shop drawings and architectural drawings. Knowledge of other building consultant drawings is helpful.
Ability to transfer knowledge
of CAD/BIM programs to design staff as needed.
Strong
organizational skills
and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills .
Ability to develop, plan, and execute strategies.
Ability to work in a
fast-paced,
team environment, juggling multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to work well with all levels of Project Managers, build partnerships, and direct teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat and PowerPoint.
